Thank your for supporting our Holiday Swim Program. This program allowed us to have the most impact by allowing both children, adolescents, and adults to attend during the holiday break from school.
The Program was held over 4 consecutive weekends August at the La Capra Hotel in Cotonou.
Eight Swim Benin instructors trained sixty-one participants of all ages. Monika Rohmer, an associate swim coach from France, traveled to Benin to facilitate this event. Also participating was UK-trained swim instructor and water safety trainer Felix Uzor from Ghana.
In one month, the following was acheived :
- Introduction of 61 participants ages 3 to 45 years to survival swimming and basic water rescue.
- Capacity building in stroke technique for higher level students.
- An accelerated course of instruction in water rescue for instructors.
- Training of swimming instructors in CPR techniques.
- Cross-cultural sharing of experience in swimming and water rescue.
Certificates of completion were given to all upon graduation from the course. We believe that we can make this an annual event with your continued support!
