We're in the organizational stages of this year's reading camps, which begin at the end of July and continue through September. We've decided to continue with the hygiene theme, since last year's facilitators commented on the positive impact of teaching kids about hand washing and oral hygiene. Thus, the books that will be used will concentrate on promoting hygiene and reading and artistic activities will also focus on this theme. With donations from GlobalGiving, we will be able to purchase books, 2 nutritious daily meals for each camper, t-shirts, toothbrushes and toothpaste and soap for each library's hand washing station. With help from generous donors, we hope to be able to invite 25 kids to each of our 12 libraries in Burkina Faso for one week to work on their reading skills and increase their capacity for academic success!
