In this report i wish to share with you a couple of good things that have happened since the last time that you heard from us.
Lydia, who shared her story of success with all of you is now in College undertaking a Diploma in Accounting. She has qualified for a government scholarship in a prestigious institution and has already begun her first semester! We are most grateful to God that He has brought all of you into our lives, because if it were not for you, we would not be able to assit girls like Lydia achieve their goals.
Last month, we were fortunate enough to have a team from Globalgiving visit us in Nairobi. They drove to our shelter where they met the girls and shelter staff. It was very exciting to have them visit us and see how the funds being received through globalgiving are being used. We found both Kevin Conroy (Chief Product Officer) and John Hecklinger (Chief Program Officer) very supportive of our work and we spent time talking about how we could take advantage of their products to strengthen our program, for your information we enjoy a superstar status on globalgiving!
Finally i want to share the good news of our cow. Sometime back we shared that we have some income generating activities(IGAs) going on. These are aimed at supplementing your contributions. We invested in a cow some few months ago, and it is now pregnant. We get at least 10 litres of milk per day in addition to the eggs that we get from our poultry project. We hope to continue expanding these activities as and when we get funds. I am attaching a photo of our cow for you to see that she is healthy and well taken care of, actually John and Kevin also met her!
Please feel free to comment or give us input that you think is useful for our work. We need more and more people to join us so that we can continue making a difference. It means so much to us when you ask your family and friends to support us.
Be blessed.
