Please join me in wishing our first school candidates the best as they prepare for their finals!

By Edith Murogo | Project Leader

Hello Everyone!!!

This year marks a big milestone for all of us at TAGS (Talia Agler Girls Shelter).  This is because 2 of our girls are candidates preparing to sit for their National examinations at the end of this year.  One girl is sitting for her primary school finals while the other is sitting for her 'O' Levels.  This is the first time that we are presenting candidates!

I wish to take this opportunity to salute our girls for they have had to overcome a lot of challenges because of their very unique and disadvantaged backgrounds of abuse and exploitation.  Oftentimes they have given up on life before they come to us.  It is not surprising that they have missed many years of schooling before they are rescued and received in our program.  Returning these girls to school is never an easy thing.  However, i must admit that i am most inspired by the courage and willpower of these girls to confront their past and move on to create a better life for themselves and their families.

I wish to acknowledge all of YOU for the support you continue to give to this project.  With your donations, you have enabled us to sponsor these girls and another 10 to boarding school where they can get quality education.  While in school, the girls are supported with school fees/levies, basic needs, books and visits.

If you are feeling good right now, congratulations because YOU DESERVE IT!!!!

Trust me to keep you updated on the progress of our lovely and smart candidates!

Blessings,
