Greetings from Nairobi, Kenya the home of Talia Agler Girls Shelter (TAGS)
We wish to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you for supporting and partnering with us to address most urgent needs of our girls at TAGS. It is with great joy and humility that we write to report on the work you make possible. With your support we have been able to stay focused on our vision of Reaching, Rescuing, Rehabilitating and Reintegrating trafficked and abused girls here in Nairobi.
Our achievements in 2013
52 girls rescued and accommodated at our shelter. With your support we have been able to provide counselling, food, medical services and lifeskills.
A tailoring class with 9 sewing machines has been started this year. 9 of our girls are currently learning tailoring skills.
A project for rearing chicken is being piloted to help supplement the nutritional provisions for the girls.
9 girls are in formal schooling outside the shelter as part of their reintegration. The girls doing well in school as they lead with high marks in most of the subjects.
With the help of partners 32 girls have been reintergrated with their families, among them a girl who has been reunited with her family in DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo)
