Take a Stand for 5,500 Girls in Pakistan

We are proud to share the success stories of 2 of HDF's very own students from Bugna. Lubna Hafeez and Shazia Bashir are both graduates from HDF's Girls' School in Bugna, and have ambitious plans for their future.  

Lubna graduated from HDF School in Bugna and is now enrolled in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) University, obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences. She wants to be able to "help others" and  strongly encourages girls in her own community to help achieve their goals and dreams through education.

Shazia, another successful HDF Bugna graduate, is now obtaining her Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering at Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST). She is a determined and ambitious young woman, with plans of obtaining her Master's Degree in the near future.  

These girls have now set a precedent for the other children. This school has an outstanding 98% graduation rate. HDF established this school for girls' higher education in the wake of the devastating earthquake in 2005. This HDF school provides hope and vision to its community. The school includes a full science lab, library, and a Science and Arts Program that students love.  HDF provides thorough and yearly training of school teachers to promote an interactive and engaging education environment. Graduates from this HDF school have gone onto study pre-med; engineering; and computer science in reputable universities.

With your help, we hope to see a greater number of alumni going on to college.  

HDF schools champion girl's education all around Pakistan. Through primary and secondary schooling, HDF ensures that girls are motivated to climb up the stairs of higher education, enter entrepreneurial ventures, voice their opinions, and actively participate in decision-making processes that affects their families and communities.
