July is finally here, which means it is time for our 2019 Taiwan-U.S. Teacher Fellows “Melting Pot” Program in New York City! This year’s summer program engages Taiwanese and American teachers in a week-long look into the various cultures of New York City, including the African-American and Dominican cultures, as well as giving participants hands-on experience with the Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodology.
The week wraps up with a two-day STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) workshop hosted by EngageAsia’s Co-Founder Stomu Miyazaki. The workshop culminates with a look at introducing creative thinking into lesson plans centered on STEAM areas.
On the final day, August 1, a Farewell Reception and Presentation will be held at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in New York City. This reception is open to friends of EngageAsia - please email info@engageasia.orgfor information on attending.
And stay tuned to our next report for a full briefing on the program!
