Not only Tailoring…
Yatra has built several projects including remote support for the education of children from families that cannot afford their studies. Often, these children are also the children of women working in tailoring. The families of these children live in precarious jobs and in a situation of exclusion; their livelihood is largely left to the forces and the commitment of women. In recent years the Little School (supported by our Onlus) has welcomed and helped hundreds of children in the neighborhood, with no walks limits of religious affiliation. The school has got many activities: morning lessons for toddlers, after-school care for kids who already have been included in regular schools, canteen service, language courses; it also has premises which, Classroom Computers, study room and library.
Each year are awarded the three-year study grants to enable students of Little School of continuing professional or university studies to find a decent job.
Distance support of the class is considered an innovative way designed to follow the educational path of the group, through an equitable distribution of the intervention that ensures sharing the project. With such support are covered expenses for books, exercise books, uniforms, meals, salaries of teachers, updating of teachers and tuition fees to regular schools of the older boys.
