We are still fundraising for this project as we do not yet have sufficient funds to launch the programme. Both ICA Cameroon and the communities are ready and eager to get the project underway, but it is not possible until there is enough funding to begin work. The issue of breast ironing remains as relevant as ever in Loum, and young girls' lives continue to be affected by this cruel and ineffective practice.
With the media attention on ebola, some longer term and more pervasive diseases and traditions that cause ill-health and even death are being overlooked. This means that your support for this project is even more welcome and needed, and we would ask you to tell your friends of this opportunity to make a difference to the lives of many young girls (up to 1 in 4 girls are affected in Cameroon).
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you can receive an email when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports without donating.
