Gender inequality feeds on injustices in many areas including economic, social, cultural and political fields. That is why women’s empowerment requires improvements and advocacy efforts in all these areas. As Support to Life, we support empowerment of women in our protection efforts, information sessions and projects to ensure access to livelihoods.
Let us listen to women so that more women can reach livelihoods thanks to the donations collected within the scope of the project:
Three women knit crochet bags side by side in a room. In the conversation that took place in two languages in Arabic and Turkish, there is one point that all three women have in common: This job is good for their psychology. One of them briefly says: “We leave our houses and meet here. People need work, but we also have a good time, we are happy”. Another one says: “I find comfort here; I am psychologically relieved”.
We strive for women who stand on their own feet and become stronger both psychologically and economically. Because women’s access to livelihoods does not only empower women, but also brings children one step closer to school. When women are unable to work, that means that children are forced to work, especially when there is no other healthy adult to take care of their livelihood. It can also mean girls are married for economic reasons.
Now come on and share our project on your social media account or with your social circle to support life so that we can reach more women.
