CDRS Empowering Women in Remote Villages in Pakistan: https://www.facebook.com/CDRSVideos/videos/580152092155836/
The CDRS Women's Empowerment Project is Providing poor women living in remote areas with skills training for making embroidered products, arts/crafts and food products, and then bringing their goods to international markets so they can earn more money and have a chance for a better life for their families. We are planning to establish Women’s Empowerment Centers all over Pakistan. APPNA helped CDRS launch this project last year at their 2015 Summer Meeting and is again supporting this project at the 2016 summer meeting.
Giving the Gift of Water and a Better Life: https://www.facebook.com/CDRSVideos/videos/580142942156751/
CDRS, in collaboration with our generous donor Free Kissan Free Pakistan, dug wells and set up large water tanks in villages Ghulam Muhammad Jamali and Ali Murad Barohi in Ghandakha, Jaffarabad, Balochistan. Women in both villages had to walk a up to 4 kilometers just to fetch a small pan of clean water. CDRS built 4 large water tanks (7,000 liter capacity each). We were faced with a big challenge to get clean water because the whole area is covered with unclean flood water.
We were able to get clean water by creating wells by boring into the ground over 2,000+ feet from the villages. We supplied the water with pumps and pipelines connected with the new tanks. This area is one of the most neglected regions of Pakistan. There is a state of artificial flood that has destroyed agriculture & bred diseases. Now, 3000+ Villagers will now be able to get clean water to drink, cook and wash at their home.
We are planning at least 10 new wells this year in remote areas of Pakistan.
