Project Report | Feb 22, 2016
Winter Medical and Sanitation Supply

By Jenna Hammerslag | Project Leader, Media Coordinator

Dearest everyday gandhis supporters,

Since our November report, the Ebola epidemic in West Africa has continued to improve with Liberia declaring their last death from the virus in July. It would seem the precautionary methods and procedures put in place have remained successful. In an effort to keep the clinics, schools and restrooms we have been supporting supplied and protected, we have pledged another three months of donations and a dedication to ensuring these facilities are able to support and sustain themselves with these materials beyond our services.

Including our November resupply, we were able to make two more trips to-date to clinics and schools in Monrovia, Voinjama and Montserrado county. Clinic and school staff alike expressed the usual sentiments upon receiving our donations, emphasizing their gratitude and the role our teams have played in keeping them and their patients protected throughout the epidemic.

Next week our teams in Voinjama and Monrovia are set to visit Bitijama Clinic and Koma Daycare School, the PMU School, Jarmulour Clinic, Zenalormai Clinic, Blonquando School, Barkedu Clinic, Harris Memorial Primary School as well as the Voinjama Central latrine and the Voinjama Central Mosque latrine.

We will continue our supply for the next three months; at which point our estimated budget from your generous donations and those of GlobalGiving will have run out. In this case, our teams’ next step is to help connect beneficiaries to other governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as to create alliances between neighborhood clinics so that they will maintain resilience.

If you would like to donate to these efforts, do so through our GlobalGiving page until May, 2016. Or help spread the word by sharing our project page with your family and friends. We sincerely thank you for all your support and generosity in making this project a success!

Much love,

-Jenna Hammerslag and the everyday gandhis team
