Children with autism in South Africa especially rural areas are rejected by society due to the stigma attached. Our project aims to provide support and education to individuals, enhancing their quality of life and promoting inclusion in their communities. The center will offer a safe inclusive environment with services within reach especially trained therapist and counsellors. We would have gained the trust of the community and be able to resolve the stigma attached. We can make a difference.
Autistic children and their families have limited access to diagnosis and assessment due to unavailable funds. They require specialized support services such as therapy which can be scarce an not affordable. Social isolation and stigma has increased depression in homes, that is the reason we need a center to accommodate these children and protect them from society who rejects them. We do not have enough special schools and parents cannot afford private centers .We can create a space for them.
We have more then 100 thousand children being misplaced in our education system due to there being not enough facilities to house these children. The project will support inclusive education initiatives, providing resources and support children to reach their full potential. Community engagement with activities to promote acceptance, understanding and inclusion. Research and awareness is needed to get proper statistics to strengthen this project. We can make this happen with your assistance.
Improved quality of life can be achieved by providing access to essential services within reach and families can experience support through our support groups. By promoting increased inclusion and acceptance in their communities, the stigma of autism and social isolation decreases. By providing access to education and therapy with people who understand their challenges. These children are capable of developing important skills . The project can offer much needed support and respite to families
