Sparks of Hope: GB & YMB Young Leaders Transform Lives with Hearts of Service

When young people step up to serve, meaningful change begins to take place. Guided by a genuine heart of service and a strong commitment to uplifting others, the young leaders of GB&YMB, together with the Foundation’s staff and dedicated volunteers, came together with one shared purpose: to bring care, support, and encouragement to communities in need across Thailand.

The team visited several under-resourced communities, including Huamark Noi, Bueng Kum, and Kitti Village. They distributed essential dry food and fresh supplies to families facing economic hardship, and organized simple coloring activities to support children’s emotional well-being.

Through this hands-on experience, the youth leaders learned to take responsibility and play an active role in caring for their communities.

Voices from the Community

“Living alone in a small room can feel very lonely,” said Grandma Somsri, age 74 (pseudonym), as she received a supply bag. “When the young people came with rice and oil, I felt very touched. But more than that, they sat with me, talked with me, and asked how I was. It made me feel cared for again.”

Nearby, Ms.Naree (pseudonym), a mother of three, shared her thoughts while watching her children color. “The rising cost of food has been a constant worry for our family. What the foundation brought today will really help us for some time. Seeing my children happy and relaxed, even just for a while, means a lot to me.”

Mr.Note (pseudonym) smiled proudly while holding his drawing. “Today was really fun! I like drawing, but I don’t have many colors at home. The older brothers and sisters sat with me and showed me how to color better. I didn’t want them to leave.”

Mr.Somchai (pseudonym), a community leader, reflected on the visit. “Our community faces many challenges, and sometimes people feel discouraged. What the foundation and the youth brought today gave us encouragement. Seeing young people serve with sincerity and care reminds us that the future can still be hopeful.”
