Happy New Year, dear friends with great hearts to change the world! At Mayanja Medical Training Institute we appreciate your efforts to help transform the lives of vulnerable nursing students through your donations. Since the start of the scholarship fund, just over two years ago, we have together enabled 18 nursing students to successfully complete the course. I am glad to inform you that four students who sat for their state examinations most recently have attained good credits; I am attaching results of one of the beneficiaries, Akampurira Christine.
Christine is an orphaned child from a very poor household in Kakindo Rwaibaare. She was on the verge of withdrawing from the course in her first semester (two and a half years ago), due to her inability to cover school fees. Christine received a scholarship from GlobalGiving, which allowed her to pursue her studies calmly and without any worries. Christine has not let us down in any way: she has excelled academically and has served as a role model with her behavior, perseverance and discipline. She is now the head of Health Centre three in her county. She is ever grateful to our sponsors on GlobalGiving and the Mayanja Memorial Hospital Foundation who have enabled her to study nursing.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
