Greetings to the GlobalGiving Family,
Like most parts of the world Uganda is also faced with the COVID-19 pandemic challenges. Currently the country is confronting the second wave of the pandemic. The country is in a total lockdown since the 19th of June 2021 for an anticipated 42 days when a review will be caried out. All schools and other educational institutions were closed and students sent home. Mayanja Memorial Medical Training Institute where students supported by GlobalGiving are enrolled is closed. Students are in their respecive homes and continue to recieve weekly assignments online. The COVID 19 pandemic has disrupted the training of students and we are looking forwards to increased vaccinations to stabilise the situations. On the positive side students who were supported by GlobalGiving but are now registered nurses are on the frontline fighting the epidemic. In future reports I will compile their experiences.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
