Dear GlobalGiving Family,
Greetings from Mayanja Memorial Hospital Foundation in Uganda .Since March 2020 Uganda like most countries in the world has been under Lockdown. Although in some specified activities the lockdown has been partially lifted. For the past 4 months the Education Institutions have been closed. Our partner training Institution Mayanja Memorial Medical Training Institute has been closed. All students are in their respective communities spread all over Uganda.The opening dates are not yet certain. The government has come out with stringent Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that are almost impossible for education institutions to implement. Discusionsa between different stakeholders are ongoing. There are suggestions to stay opening of educational institutions until a vaccine against COVID 19 is available. The training of Health Care Students has therefore been disrupted.
