Global Giving offers a 100% Match during the September 2018 Recurring Match Campaign

Support UPO’s Foster Grandparents Program has been fortunate to be invited to participate in the Global Giving Recurring Match Campaign from Monday, September 24 through Friday, September 28, 2018!

This is a great opportunity, and here’s how it works.

Make your Year End Campaign gift to Support UPO’s Foster Grandparents Program this week and spread your payments over 4 months!

• The initial gift of a new recurring donation will be matched 100% up to $200 per donor
• To be eligible for matching, the recurring donation must last for at least three months after the initial donation (a minimum of 4 donations total). So, for example, if you start a new recurring donation this month, keep it active through October, November, and December, then your initial donation from September will be matched 100%.

For example: Make a commitment to donate $100 to Support UPO’s Foster Grandparents Program’s Year End Campaign. Initiate a recurring donation of $25 this month, for at least 4 months through October, November and December and your September donation will be matched 100%!

UPO Foster Grandparents (FGPs) annually give over 180,000 volunteer hours, serving over 15,000 social economically disadvantaged children at 60 volunteer sites in Washington, DC including Early Head Start/Head Start centers, Elementary Schools and Children's Hospitals. Volunteers engage in tutoring, mentoring, social emotional support and assisting students in learning programs in cooperation with school systems. Proven outcomes are improved school readiness and K-12 success.

Help is needed to cover the cost of training, materials, uniforms, and daily travel for more than 200 low-income DC senior volunteer FGPs. In addition we have a waiting list of 100 seniors to be FGPs, 10 educational institutions seeking to join the program and every current partnering volunteer site has requested additional FGPs.
