Global Bonus Day Campaign 2018
Wednesday September 12th – Thurday September 13th
Join us for a GlobalGiving First. A Bonus Day that will be running for 33 hours! Support UPO’s Foster Grandparents Program will be guaranteed a Proportional Match of a $50,000 incentive fund from GlobalGiving that will be shared based on the amount of funds we raise during the alloted time.
UPO's Foster Grandparents (FGPs) provide critical mentoring and tutoring services daily to 15,000 social economically disadvantaged DC children from birth to 21 years of age in a variety of local settings. Help is needed to cover the cost of training, materials, uniforms, and daily travel for more than 200 low-income DC senior volunteer FGPs. In addition we have a waiting list of 100 seniors to be FGPs, 10 educational institutions seeking to join the program and every current partnering volunteer site has requested additional FGPs.
UPO’s Foster Grandparents program has aked us to please raise an additional $4,000 during the next 6 weeks, to insure there is adequate funding for training costs, materials, uniforms and travel expenses for the year ahead.
