Dear Partners,
We hope you and your loved ones are doing well. Every year at Teach For Pakistan, summer brings a moment that captures the heart of this movement: one cohort of leaders completes its journey just as another steps forward to begin theirs. We're delighted to share both milestones with you because you made them possible.
A Promise for Life: The Pledge
In May, 74 Fellows from our 2024 cohort completed their two-year Fellowship and joined our Alumni movement at The Pledge, our annual graduation ceremony. The Pledge is more than a farewell to the classroom. Standing before their peers and mentors, Fellows promise to work for educational equity for Pakistan's children, for life. Whether our Alumni step into public service, education leadership, or social innovation, they carry their students' realities and aspirations with them into their next chapters.
This year's Pledge was also a milestone in itself: for the first time, we held two ceremonies, including our first-ever cohort graduation in Karachi. Fellows and students shared their leadership breakthroughs - the moments over two years that changed how they learn, lead, and dream. Seeing the movement grow in a second city was a proud reminder of how far your support has carried us.
The Next Chapter Begins
Even as we celebrated one journey's completion, the next was already underway. You may remember that in our last few updates, we shared the launch of our Built For This recruitment campaign, a search for people with the passion, skills, and commitment this work requires. That search has brought us here: more than 85 Fellows of our incoming cohort are now immersed in our six-week Training Institute.
The Institute is intensive and immersive, but it is more than preparation for teaching. It is where Fellows begin to see education differently - exploring how children learn, how to teach for true understanding, and how the work of a single classroom connects to the larger vision of equity. When schools reopen after the summer, these Fellows will step into underserved classrooms across Islamabad and Karachi and begin their own journeys of change.
Looking Ahead
Together, these two milestones tell the story of the movement you are helping build: one where two years in the classroom deepen into a lifetime of commitment towards educational equity. As our newest Fellows prepare to meet their students, and our newest Alumni carry the mission forward, thank you for standing with Pakistan's children, and for helping us Keep Pakistan Learning.
