The Rainforest Conservation and Education Center property, acquired late last year, is currently being developed to strengthen conservation field operations by providing a dedicated base for Rainforest Guardians and volunteers. The facility will support the monitoring and protection of both the Trust's conserved buffer-zone forests and the wider northern boundary of the Sinharaja World Heritage Rainforest, helping to enhance long-term conservation efforts.
Preparations are also underway for the Center to facilitate field research and serve as a venue for environmental education programmes targeting local communities, students, and visitors. Through these activities, the Center aims to increase awareness of rainforest conservation, encourage community participation in protecting biodiversity, and inspire the next generation of conservation leaders.
With the continued support of our donors and partners, we are steadily moving closer to establishing a vibrant conservation hub that will help safeguard this globally significant rainforest for generations to come.
