After months of recruitment, partnership, and collaboration our fellowship has begun. Over the course of the next twelve months these incredible fellows will expand their knowledge in the foundation of environmental justice work, influence the next generation of life in my days programming, and in a few months begin their own community projects that aim to transform them and their communities. Between the ages of 12 and 27, these incredible individuals are aiming to work within elementary and middle schools, college programs, establishing new environmental justice groups and organizations, impact policy and governance, and promote a sense of belonging for justice warriors everywhere to ensure the sustainment of the work being done and to avoid burnout in a field that's known for it. We are already inspired by the incredible momentum and creativity the fellows have shown throughput the receuitment process and beginning of this fellowship.
Work on our first Partnership is underway
One of the first projects our fellows have been inspiring is a partnership with the Waterbury school system to establish a climate change curriculum for 2nd and 3rd graders. This program, which will largely be lead by different fellows will allow us to reach children from a young age to transform the leaders of tomorrow and will support them in building a foundation built on justice from the youngest of ages. The fellows are excited for the potential of expanding the program to a fellowship for children between the ages of 6 and 8 to support their longterm transformation.
This is one of three projects the fellows will be working on in the next eleven months, including their own respective projects. Stay tuned for updates as we announce additional projects in the coming months, and formally begin to introduce fellows to our community in various ways along the way. None of this would be possible without your generous support, and your continued support will allow us to see this through in the most impactful and sustainable of ways. Thank you!
