The Firefighters Foundation of Argentina's mission is to support the work of firefighters and executives by strengthening their social role and promoting their personal and professional development. FBA (acronym in Spanish) works to create a safer and more resilient society and to make the community a driving force for spreading best practices in risk prevention. FBA does not receive any government subsidies. Its funding comes from donations.
The National Volunteer Firefighters System (SNBV) is made up of 58,000 volunteer firefighters and managers, more than 1,100 associations, and 29 provincial federations. The SNBV is the main operational arm of Civil Protection in Argentina, providing professional and voluntary accident safety services across 80% of the national territory.
FBA promotes the social recognition of volunteer firefighters and encourages actions so that they can perform their task in the best possible way. To this end, it generates alliances with companies and institutions that contribute to the development of firefighters and managers. FBA also impulse firefighters and the community to work together in risk prevention. Through educational and awareness actions, the Foundation contributes to the development of safer and more resilient cities.
The project will let FBA impulse its welfare initiatives among the 58.000 firemen and firewomen throughout the country. It also will enable educational actions in schools to continue wth the aim of promoting risk prevention and helping to minimize the number of domestic accidents.
