Project Report | Oct 25, 2023
Stepping into the 2023-2024 school year together

By Petar Sharkov | CEO

I am delighted that we are welcoming another school year together, in which we are preparing to educate over 2000 students in 40 locations across the country. Additionally, more than 50 schools will be using programs developed by us. We are eagerly looking forward to what the results will be.

Thanks to your support, our donors, partners, municipalities, and teachers, we are confident that we will continue to reach more students through the new model of integrating programs into Bulgarian schools.

In the past few months:

  • Our team has been diligently preparing for the 2023-2024 school year and securing 100 cohorts.
  • We successfully conducted an admission campaign, with more than 3400 students from grades 3 to 12 participating and submitting applications. Thanks to the scale we achieved together, we managed to admit over 2000 students who will receive free education throughout the school year.
  • Our work on the new model for integrating programs into schools across the country continues. Currently, 50 schools are participating in the pilot phase during this school year.
  • The process of attracting necessary financial support from donors was completed successfully, involving several new businesses, municipalities, and individual figures in our cause.

Retreat and teacher training

Traditionally, this summer, we held an exciting retreat for our network of teachers. We introduced them to the new model for integrating programs into schools, which they warmly embraced. A significant number of them expressed eagerness to test this model during the upcoming school year.

Additionally, we organized training sessions for teachers from our partner schools in Burgas, where we implement our educational programs. 17 schools have joined us for the new academic year, extending the reach of our educational offerings to even more students.

Honors for our collective efforts

In October, 37 Bulgarian students earned a total of 16 medals at the international informatics competition, Romanian Master of Informatics 2023, held in Bucharest. We are exceptionally delighted that 18 of these participants start their journey in our free cohorts during their early years, from 4 to 7 grades. Seven of our alumni achieved the status of medalists, and the entire national team secured the top position in the team rankings, claiming the tournament's cup. We take immense pride in all the teachers who are part of our network and have dedicated 13 years to nurturing these champions!

Looking ahead

We remain steadfast in our commitment to expand our impact and reach even more young minds. The future brings new challenges and opportunities, and we are prepared to innovate and adapt to meet them. With the continued support of our dedicated partners, donors, and educators, we are excited to shape the next generation of digital leaders in Bulgaria. Together, we will build a brighter and more digitally empowered future for all.

Thank you for your unwavering support, and let's continue to make a difference together.
