The educational situation of Syrian children in Torbali refugee camps remains at a critical level. Around 40 children aged 5–15(most of them over 10 years old) still lack regular and structured access to learning opportunities.
With our support, we have noticed a growing interest among the children in attending formal school. However, many families do not allow it, as children are often needed to work in the fields during the agricultural season to help sustain their households. Others fear rejection by surrounding communities, which further prevents school attendance. The extreme summer heat also makes it difficult to organize long group sessions, since the camps offer very little shade.
Despite these challenges, in August and September our dedicated volunteers and partners successfully organized a variety of activities, including painting, coloring, drawing, dancing, and football. The children eagerly looked forward to these visits and participated with joy and enthusiasm. Their families also responded positively, which reflects the strengthened trust and growing bond within the community.
Yet the needs remain urgent. Educational and recreational materials, hygiene and cleaning supplies, food, and clothing are still in short supply. Due to high travel costs and hot weather, our teacher cannot visit the camp regularly without additional financial support. As a result, when children miss out on lessons or activities, they experience deep frustration and disappointment.
With your support, we can continue to bring education, hope, and care to these children living under difficult conditions. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has joined our mission so far, and we kindly invite you to stand with us in ensuring these children’s right to learn, play, and dream of a brighter future.
