By joining Hope for Justice in the fight against modern slavery you will be able to support women like Aster.
Aster a widow and mother of 6 children was living day to day surviving through daily labour and petty trade. Unable to support her children she sent them to town and her daughter abroad to what she thought would be an opportunity for them. However, she didn’t know the work and life she thought was being provided for her children was exploitative domestic labour. In 2017 she joined one of our self-help groups and learned about modern slavery.
At the self-help group she has the opportunity to learn the value of saving and help to bring her children back out of exploitation. Aster says “I accepted the principles of the training with my full heart and now my children have started to live with me and attend school. I also brought my daughter from the nearby town and registered her at school. To keep my daughter with me, I bought five hens and I allow her to rear them.”
With your help more women and their families can be reached, more people can live free.
