Progress Report - Transportation of kids

Hello Dear Friends and esteemed Donors,

Seasonal Greetings to you from HEARDS – India!

I am extremely delighted and pleased to submit this report.  Many families in Chittoor is getting migrated from another parts of the State due to unemployment.  Among these migrated families they work as daily laborers in construction industries, brick kilns, gravel industry, small cigar making industries, poultry industry, granite industry and other jobs.  Most of these parent kids works as non-technical laborers and most of these industries are located out of town and due to this all these families stay in the outskirts of the town by building small huts in the Government lands.  As the rehabilitation centre is located in the heart of the town we desperately need to bring the children who are scattered from different parts of the town.  Due to this transportation of kids is an essential component towards the success of the project.

In order to shuttle these children to and from the home we are facing a great difficulty towards the maintenance of the vehicle.  On an average there will be around 40 kids are coming from the outskirts of the town.  Our rehabilitation centre is the only place all these kids will get meaningful education, a place to love, play and enjoy their childhood.  If we leave them without caring they will end up working in hazardous and non-hazardous industries.  They will certainly lost their childhood ending up with punishments from the clutches of employers.

The other challenge is that the distances of the van ride every day because we need to understand the fuel costs are increasing day by day in India.  This cost will be only for a short period of time because once the children as well as parents understand the importance of education and the children educational standard getting increased and able to cope up with regular school going children then we will mainstream them into the nearby Government schools.  The period will be normally from 6 months to one year.  During this period we fervently request you to kindly support these downtrodden children transportation cost in order to regain their lost childhood.

We thank you as always for your valuable donations and hope to continue to support us.
