Greetings to you from Health Education Adoption Rehabilitation Development Society (HEARDS) - India!
I hope and wish you are fine and safe there. Thank you so much for your most valuable support and with your support all our children are coming from different parts of the city to the rehabilitation center. We started this concept seven years ago. We aim to reach kids in underserved communities.
Through the 'Free Transportation Bus', we aim to go to places especially in an underserved community because we found out they do not have access to go to the schools. We want to take the children to rehabilitation school. That is been our dream. We have seen so many lives touched and impacted through this.
HEARDS started the concept of taking education onto the wheel seven years ago. The community school has the bus now, which goes to eight different locations in the city to reach the students. The starting point of buses is from the slums of Chittoor to different villages in the nearby Chittoor city.
The children are made to study throughout the day and then provided with mid-day meals during the day. The children are taught non-formal education and basic educational skills like language and basic math skills. After the children get potential to cope up with the regular school-going children than we mainstream those children in the regular Government schools.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, being able to spread out and have more support towards transportation expense has become essential. These donations will assist us with maintaining those expenses and making sure that the HEARDS children especially girls can learn, eat, and be active as safely as possible.”
