Dear Esteemed Patrons,
Greetings to you from Health Education Adoption Rehabilitation Development Society (HEARDS)!
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown in India, people all over our target villages are facing hardships. COVID-19 has not just evoked fear but has also caused depression, anxiety, and hunger affecting the social fabric of the community. Many of our target group children and their family members are facing challenges to fulfill their basic needs; most of them are daily wage earners, who have no means of income to feed their children.
We knew we needed to do something - so we started a COVID-19 relief effort. We aim to create and distribute family survival packs (consisting of rice and dry provisions) to those most in need.HEARDS officially got permission to do the relief work from the District Administration Chittoor District and a vehicle pass was provided to help us reach more people. HEARDS has been providing relief to the families most affected by the lockdown from day one.
The HEARDS field members also have been facing problems in working in the field due to the Government lockdown and difficulty of transportation to the community. They have braved all odds and carried out the awareness, distribution of a family survival kit, and providing education to the children in distressed communities across our target villages.
The aim is to help the women and girls in the community and their families who are facing extremely difficult living conditions and provide them with some support and provide with basic food, health and hygiene facilities so that they can survive through this crisis.
Thanking you,
With best wishes and fond regards,
