Project Report for Making Healthcare a Human Right – COVID 19 pandemic
Dear Donors,
We have been able to create an everlasting transformation in the lives of more than 177 underprivileged children and their families and with your support we will touch many more lives……. We are thankful to be associated with GlobalGiving Team for their support they are rendering to Abhilasha Foundationand saving the lives of underprivileged children.... Together we can eradicate poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition and violence.
Covid 19 pandemic has been a devasting effect in this whole world. It has affected many innocent people and they are dying and infected people are increasing day by day. Abhilasha Foundation has been in the fore front and gave relief services in different parts of slums in Mumbai and Thane to the daily wagers, poor, needy and physically challenged people living in the slums.Our team are working continuously with the communities to ensure social distancing and wearing masks to protect themselves from COVID 19. The migrants were very happy to receive the foodgrains from Abhilasha Foundation.Abhilasha Foundation team is committed even during this difficult time to continue to serve the poor and the needy daily wage workers. Together we can change the lives of these underprivileged children. We can send them forward into the world with a bright outlook on life, a spirit of adventure, a passion for compassion and a desire to serve others less fortunate. We can give them a whole new future.
Case Story: Ist beneficiary: He is a male 2 years old boy suffering from Retinoblastoma (It is a rare form of cancer that rapidly develops from the immature cells of a retina, the light detecting tissue of the eye. It is the most common primary malignant intraocular cancer in children and it is almost exclusively found in young children). Due to their financial condition they had been going door to door for financial support and hence could not treat him. His vision started deteriorating day by day and they took him to Somaiya Ayurvihar-Asian Cancer Institute, Mumbai. Doctors informed them that he requires urgent chemotherapy & surgery of the eye as early as possible. His father works as an labourer on a contract basis in a private office and his mother is a house wife.His father earns only Rs.10,000/- per month. Since he has to take care of the family and he naturally is not in a position to bear the cost of the treatment of his son. The approximate cost for the chemotherapy & surgery of Master ShivaranjanJagalolis Rs. 1,72,596/-.Kindy donate generously to save this young boy.
IInd Beneficiary: He is a male 14 years old boy suffering from non-metastatic osteosarcoma of right proximal tibia (Cancer starts when cells in the body begin to grow out of control. Cells in nearly any part of the body can become cancer and can spread to other areas of the body). Due to their financial condition they had been going door to door for financial support and hence could not treat him. His health started deteriorating day by day and they took him to Somaiya Ayurvihar-Asian Cancer Institute, Mumbai. Doctors informed them that he requires urgent surgery & chemotherapy as early as possible. His father had a shop but now he is not working and his mother is a domestic servant. They came from Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai for their livelihood.His mother earns only Rs.5000/- per month. Since she has to take care of the family alone and she naturally is not in a position to bear the cost of the treatment of him.The approximate cost for the surgery & treatment of him is Rs. 4,69,588/. Kindy donate generously to save this young boy.
