Disaster!

By David Steiner | HANDS AROUND THE WORLD Chief Exec

Dear friends,

A tornado (or something very similar) has struck Mrs. Sianga's new school!
Although fortunately no-one was hurt, the damage is quite severe as you can see on the attached photos (sorry for the poor quality of the pictures), with the roof virtually all blown off.
Mrs. Sianga writes: "The incident happened on 04th October 2011 between 17:00-18:00 hrs. The rain was raining, suddenly heavy winds started blowing at an instant the iron sheets were removed from the roof, about 50 meters away from the school premises. Some of sheets were broken, some were bent and turned. Even the books were soaked; we picked them and selected few good ones.
We are trying to cover one of the class rooms because we are having final examination for grade nine so we are under pressure that we need a help from you so that we can access for the examinations.
Please kindly try to help us quickly us you can..."

The cost of repair is put at about £1500 including labour and materials;and as they are now just at the very start of the rainy season, it is urgent as you can imagine.
Please help if you can.

Best wishes,

David
