Project supports our independent media outlets, media-partners of Charity Foundation "Democratic Society", that provides objective and vital information to the communities, especially those suffering from Russia's invasion. Funding provides to our media organizations that conduct training on journalism.

The activities of the media during the war should be described through the prism of their social significance and contribution to victory:

"Ukrainian journalists are an information front. They do not simply record events, they are sometimes documenters of war crimes, whose materials will become the basis for the responsibility of the aggressor. Their daily work, which they perform to the sounds of sirens, is critically important for preserving the democratic space and maintaining communication between the front and the rear. Helping Ukrainian media is not charity, it is an investment in the stability of our state and future justice."

The activities of Ukrainian media in the conditions of a large-scale war can be described as a round-the-clock mission with a risk to life, aimed at documenting war crimes, countering disinformation and preserving national stability. This is work at the limit of human capabilities.

Difficulties and the hard life of journalists

Ukrainian journalists work in extremely difficult and dangerous conditions that require constant resilience:

Direct threat to life: Journalists regularly work in dangerous areas, in de-occupied territories and during massive shelling of cities. They become targets or suffer from "friendly fire" or mine hazards. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, dozens of media workers have been killed or injured.

Physical exhaustion: Long trips in uncomfortable conditions, lack of stable food and sleep, working in trenches or shelters are the norm.

Infrastructure challenges: Working in conditions of frequent power outages, lack of internet and communication requires constant readiness for emergency solutions.

Editorial needs for survival and effective work

In order for Ukrainian media to survive as a business and continue their mission, they need comprehensive assistance. The financial stability of editorial offices was undermined by the collapse of the advertising market.

Operational needs and infrastructure

Office rental and repair

Many editorial offices were forced to move or lost their offices due to destruction. Editorial offices spend money on rent, basic repairs and the arrangement of safe workplaces (shelters, bomb shelters).
Autonomy and Energy Supply
Purchase of power banks, batteries and Internet equipment to ensure uninterrupted operation during blackouts, which is critical for publications.
Press conferences and events
Payment for press center services, holding press conferences, briefings and educational events, which is important for communication between authorities and experts with journalists.
Furniture and equipment
Basic office equipment (tables, chairs, server equipment) for the arrangement of functional workplaces.

Technical and Protective Equipment

Individual protection of the first-aid kit for journalists.
Gadgets and Communication
Purchase and upgrade of cameras, laptops, voice recorders and protected smartphones, phones/terminals required for shooting and transmitting content.

Cybersecurity
Software and services for protecting the digital infrastructure of editorial offices from hacker attacks (DDoS, phishing, data theft).

Transport and Logistics

Transport for business trips:
Journalists need to pay for transportation to work, including on broken roads.

Travel expenses: Covering the costs of travel and accommodation for journalists during long business trips.

Support and Training

Participation in Security Training: Conducting high-quality exercises with journalists in tactical medicine, mine safety and operations in combat conditions.

The information front during the war is extremely important!
Today, considerable real and potential opportunities of the media are not being properly used. In particular, both as a channel of communication with society and its unity to accelerate victory over the aggressor, and as one of the tools of waging information warfare with the enemy. That is why journalists themselves are forced to take care of the survival of the media in Ukraine. Such is the situation regarding the salvation of the newspaper, which is currently going through its most difficult times.

A large number of donors have not yet realized the importance of the information war, and words are a weapon that also requires funding. So we, as best we can, survive and are forced to fight with all our efforts against this aggression of evil and lies not only on the front line, but also for the consciousness of people.
That is why, in this difficult time, we must do our utmost to ensure that our media can fully fulfill their function, to be close to the people. It is clear that in a period when a threat hangs over everyone, not everyone is able to allocate funds for donations, although the need for reliable information is especially urgent now.

There is a war going on now. Media activity in Ukraine has never been so important. Our correspondents work tirelessly, journalists fight on the information front - with the help of news, texts, posts on social networks, streams on YouTube, etc.

The work of a journalist in wartime is difficult and responsible. Journalists must adhere to safety rules and ethical principles; they perform difficult and responsible work professionally and effectively.

The work of journalists during war is always fraught with difficulties and dangers; journalists have to work in unfavorable conditions, face danger and overcome it.

In their work in wartime, journalists must ensure the safety of their activities and have everything necessary to ensure their safety, including a first aid kit and communications equipment.

Press must have the resources to work.

In order for the newspaper to expand the circle of its readers, support for the development of the newspaper is needed to make it better, so that journalists are motivated to work at full strength.

Currently, during the war, not all advertising products can be advertised, so now there is a shortage in funds.

During the war, all state financial resources, as well as the funds of the population, are directed towards producing and purchasing of weapons to defend ourselves for surviving, for military personnel, participating in hostilities, creating a gigantic shortage of funds for refugees and all the civilians.

Our Foundation helps independent mass media and our correspondents have a support in work.

The project support our media, partners of our CF "Democratic Society", one of which is a newspaper "Ukrainian Youth".

Our newspaper "Ukrainian Youth" is read by officials of Ukraine, people's deputies, youth, ordinary people.

Our newspaper provides objective and important information to communities, especially those affected by Russian invasion. It is also supports our media organizations, which stimulate the improvement of professional skills of journalists, cyber and physical safety of journalists, as well as the explaining to journalists their rights and their protection during war.

We support our mass media, which is now in a bad situation during military operations.

Journalists of our editorial office work non-stop in order for our readers to learn the most up-to-date information in the period of war in Ukraine as quickly as possible.

Journalists work with published only true and verified information. Our journalists defend freedom of speech and democratic values.
Project of our Charity Foundation helps to provide the resources to work for our journalists, for the implementation of freedom of transport movement of our journalists, for conducting interviews, attending press-conferences, covering important events, posting articles, purchasing gadgets and journalists equipment. With true and verified information, we don't give invaders a chance in the newsroom of the battle. To resist any kind of propaganda, we support our journalists.

To help media in our country, to help children of refugees to continue getting higher education, develop journalism among children of the refugees, our foundation provides activity in the organization of free tutoring, free practice for students, free internships for students of higher educational institutions in the specialty "journalism", introduction of non-formal education in educational institutions, based on human rights principles, holding cultural and integration events.

Charity Foundation "Democratic Society" provides projects to help students - children of refugees from the war in the journalistic speciality, a project of an aid to the main base for free internship - to our newspaper "Ukrainian Youth".

Internship is included in the process of studying students at universities, and the organization of this internship, tuition, also requires funds.

So in that period we continued to provide aid and support of the newspaper "Ukrainian Youth", which is the main means of media of our Foundation .

The main thing is the material and financial provision of student's tutoring and internships.

We were providing aid and support of the newspaper "Ukrainian Youth", which is the main means of media of the Charitable Foundation "Democratic Society" in which tutoring and training of students is providing.
Payment of rent, telephone, Internet, transport, electricity, firewood for heating the office, rooms for the employees of the foundation, medicine for the treatment of employees and those who need it.
Provision of the office with stationery and other supplies, gadgets for work, other equipment, provision of printing materials, printing of certificates on student internships, renovation of editorial office of newspaper "Ukrainian Youth".
Payment for food, representative expenses, working trips. Provision of information and advertising services for finding students who need internship.
In addition, funds were needed to complete repairing the office of our Foundation, which was fired upon by the Russian air raids.

A bright memory to the journalists and editorial staff who have passed away.
