We will provide safe, dignified and lifesaving GBV prevention, mitigation and response services to vulnerable displaced women and girl survivors and those at risk of GBV including with disabilities in Gaza. Our services include building community capacity to address discriminatory gender norms, providing hygiene kits, food parcels, psychological first aid and support, legal counseling, case management, and referral to health and safe shelter services in partnership with other organizations.
Millions in our community have been displaced by Israel's genocidal war on Palestinians. Our staff have faced repeated displacement and the destruction of our offices. Despite immense challenges, we continue providing critical humanitarian aid-hygiene kits, food, psychological support, legal counseling, case management, and more-to help prevent further loss of life, hunger, disease, and trauma as the war on Gaza continues.
By providing psychological first aid and support, legal counseling, and case management, with a special focus on supporting women and girl GBV survivors, we will help prevent further violence against displaced women and girls who lack safe shelter. By providing hygiene kits, food parcels, and other essentials to communities in need, we help fight trauma, hunger and disease. Even during the blockades, we were able to move aid thanks to our local networks and longstanding presence in Gaza.
Funding will help us reach the most vulnerable - especially women and girls who continue to bear the brunt of the humanitarian crisis - with essentials like hygiene kits, food, and psychological support for trauma and displacement. Women's rights groups like WAC, deeply rooted in the community, play a critical role and are leading the humanitarian response. But they have faced major funding cuts since October 2023. Support is urgently needed to sustain their critical, frontline efforts.
