Because of your generosity, families in rural Rajasthan are discovering that even the smallest piece of land can create a healthier, more secure future. Thank you for helping farmers build sustainable livelihoods while protecting the environment.
In rural village of Rajasthan's Rajsamand district, Bhagwatilal and his wife, Rekha, have transformed just aquarter acre of land into a thriving natural farm. What many considered too small to support a family has become a source of healthy food, reliable income, and inspiration for the entire community.
With training, quality seeds, protective nets, and ongoing guidance from Seva Mandir - made possible through your support - the couple adopted natural farming methods. Today, their farm grows nearly 30 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and food crops throughout the year. They also keep three cows and a buffalo, using natural manure and homemade bio-inputs instead of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
The results have been remarkable. Their farming costs have reduced, the soil has become healthier, and the farm is better able to withstand changing weather. Their family now enjoys fresh, nutritious food every day, and as Rekha proudly shares, their medical expenses have become almost negligible because of their healthier diet.
Their chemical-free produce is so valued that customers come directly to their farm to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Even more importantly, neighboring farmers regularly visit to learn from their experience, showing how one family's success can inspire many others.
