The Saint Lucia National Trust, would once again like to thank all those persons who have generously donated to our campaign. Covid-19, took the world by strom and has impacted lives across the globe, from developing to developed countries, no nation was left unscathed.
The impact of Covid-19, on travel and tourism continues to put a strain on our finances, which in turn has had spin off effects on our operations. Although we were forced to embark on a restructuring process in December 2020, which resulted iin a reduction of our staff complement by over 40%, we continue to endevour to fulfill our mandate.
Thankfully, your kind donations have allowed us to continue with the maintenance and upkeep of the Pigeon Island National Landmark, our flagship site. This has included ongoing works on some of our 18 Century ruins on Pigeon Island.. The preservation of these historical features which are an intergral part of our history are of paramount importance and these works also, ensure the safety of our patrons and staff. As well, through your kind donations we have been able to continue with our landscaping and beautification of the Landmark, through the purchase of much needed equipment for our grounds caretakers,
We are very thankful for the contributions received thus far and as of July 16th 2021, through you donations we have received $2,259.91 from a total of 69 donors.
We express our deepest gratitude to all our donors; your support has enabled us to continue our efforts to conserve the heritage of Saint Lucia and to retain some of our staff in these trying times. We hope that you will continue on this journey with us as we work steadfastly to conserve Saint Lucia's uniquie natural and built heritage..
