Support Goma Culture Festival for Peace

In Goma, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, years of instability and economic hardship have left many young people with limited opportunities to express themselves, connect with others, and build a better future. Against this difficult backdrop, the Goma Culture Festival for Peace aims to bring together 2,000 young people, artists, and entrepreneurs for four days of music, traditional dance, sports, cultural exhibitions, and dialogue. More than a festival, this initiative seeks to create a safe space where communities can reconnect, celebrate their shared heritage, and discover new opportunities through culture and entrepreneurship.

We are currently in the preparation phase, identifying trainers and prospective learners who will participate in the project's capacity-building activities. While the festival has not yet begun, important groundwork is underway to ensure that the activities respond to the needs of local youth and entrepreneurs. Our total fundraising target is $54,000, and we have not yet received any donations. Through our collaboration with GlobalGiving, we are working to mobilize the resources needed to bring this initiative to life. Once funding is secured, it will support the festival's essential needs, including stage setup, youth training, and exhibition spaces for local entrepreneurs.
