Remote Area Medical® (RAM) was founded in 1985 by Stan Brock. Stan was a man of many talents: a cattle rancher, star of TV and film, and an animal enthusiast. He was also a bush pilot committed to improving the health outcomes of people with little or no access to medical care. He developed the idea for RAM while working at the Dadanawa Ranch in Guyana and RAM remains committed to the region. The Guyana Air Ambulance Program connects patients and their loved ones living in remote villages in the region with healthcare providers. Without this vital program, many lives would be adversely affected if not lost.
In 2019, thanks to your generosity, the Guyana Air Ambulance program has benefited close to 230 patients and connected more than 140 caregivers to people in need. RAM pilots logged nearly 150 hours of flight and traveled 14,376 miles. The program is responsible for providing $264,290 in value of care to some of Guyana’s most impoverished populations. With your continued support, RAM will keep filling healthcare gaps in the nation that inspired its existence.
