Remote Area Medical's free air ambulance program continues to provide free air transportation to hundreds of sick and injured people in Guyana. With few options for emergency care, RAM's air ambulance program significantly cuts travel time from rural areas to healthcare providers, a critical factor when it comes to saving lives! Between January and October of this year, 932 people (including 151 children) have utilized the free RAM air ambulance program. This equates to $718,590 in free care provided.
RAM Founder, Stan Brock, first envisioned his idea for RAM after being injured in Guyana. From the very beginning, RAM has had a committment to serving Guyana and the people who live there. To this end, RAM will continue to provide free air ambulance service to those in need. In addition, RAM will soon beging sending teams of qualifed medical professionals to help re-establish the RAM Guyana Women's Health Program. This program will utilize dedicated volunteers who will work to prevent and treat cervical cancer in Guyanese women. More information about that program can be found here: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/prevent-and-treat-cervical-cancer-in-guyana/.
As always, we appreciate your support and look forward to serving the people of Guyana together!
Thank you!
