Thank you for supporting this project. I am writing today to share some updates about our work in Ethiopia. We appreciate you taking your time to learn and act in response to this crisis.
East Africa is currently experiencing a historic drought affecting millions of people. This drought has created subsequent, drastic issues for communities in the region. In Ethiopia alone, 20.1 million people need food assistance, 6.8 million livestock have died, 2 million people are now internally displaced, and more. ActionAid continues to respond to this crisis and has so far reached 440,000 people in Ethiopia, Somaliland, and Kenya. Our response activities include cash assistance, food distribution, provision of WASH services, protection and health programs, and the distribution of non-food items. ActionAid will continue to provide emergency and protection services in Ethiopia, as well as the rest of East Africa, in response to this ongoing drought.
Thank you for your support and solidarity during this time. Now more than ever, your commitment to justice makes a difference.
