Background:
Raksha Nepal has been actively working for women and children for the past 11 years. This organization supports those girls, women and their children who have been through different types of violence (sexual abuse, domestic violence, trafficking, polygamy victim etc) or who are vulnerable to violence. It also works in favor of the victims to raise their voice to the concerned institutions and help them get justice.
In the same context, since last 5 years, Raksha has established a Child Transit Home for those vulnerable children who have gone through negligence, orphans, sexually abused and other violations. The main objective to keep them in this transit home is to prevent them from following the wrong path and enjoy the basic rights like other normal children. Moreover, these children also get oppertunity to make their life better. Raksha Nepal has been trying its best to give a safe and family environment to these vulnerable children, with limited funding source. RN with personal contributions has extended different kinds of support to more than 2500 children so far. Currently, it has 30 children in its transit home. RN has been coordinating with different organizations for their secure future.

Participated in Cultural Program in beauty context: Raksha Nepal took the children for participate in cultural program in Beauty Context located in Army officers club in Kathmandu.The program was organized by E-Planet and they gave chance to perfom dance program at that event. Raksha Nepal selected the 5 children for perfom on that program, children was performed their dance items. Estimated 1 thousand viewers participated on that program, children has perform their dance art infront that mass.
Interaction with ex-Prime Minister: Raksha Nepal organized visit program of former Prime Minister Dr. Babu ram Bhattarai in it's child shelter. The Dr Bhattarai was interested to meet with the children and interact with them, result of that he was visited the shelter. He met with evry child personally and encourage to continue progress on their study. He also was committed to support Raksha Nepal for fighting against rape issues. There were 30 children and 15 staff of Raksha Nepal were participated in interaction program in Raksha permeises.
Festival Celebration : Raksha Nepal organized celebration program for children in it's shelter. This time it's organized Holi Festival the festival of colour and children very much like it. Children and staff and also some people who sorrounding of Raksha Nepal and also its well wishers has been participated in celebration. Raksha Nepal most of the time try to do collaborative activities with local people and individuals who are interested to do social work.
Birth Day Celebration: Raksha Nepal has organizes and celebrating the birthday of children who are living in shelter and some times other children and parents also celebrating their birthday in Raksha child shelter. The 5 family of the childrens were celebarted their childrens birthday in Raksha Nepal child shelter with the children. 8 children from Raksha shelter were also celebrated jointly at the same time. The staff members and some guest were also participated in different birthday celebrations.
Additional Classes in winter vacation: The children from Raksha Nepal child shelter has been participate in different motivational and skill classes in their winter vacation. The 10 children were participated in Guitar classes and whole group of children 32 from shelter were participate in Yoga and motivational speech classes. The children were very happy and they utilised their vacation time in innovative activity with fun.
Participated in Protest program : Raksha Nepal organize and participate in different advocay activities the issues of women and children. Raksha advocating women empowerment and awareness on it, such as rally, protest, eminar, workshop etc. One of the wrost and maximum popular rape case of 6 year girl child in Nepal, whole civil society and different organizations has demonstrated, during that time Raksha Nepal also demostrate and participate in different rally with whole team and children.
Emergency Shelter established for Earthquake victim children : Nepal just serviving from big hit of great Earthquake 7.9, 7.2 and many more after shocks. At that moment many families with children were displaced after lost their houses and establishments. Raksha Nepal has coordination with other organization has been established temporary shelter for women and children with basic facility (food, shelter, medicines etc). Raksha Nepal has started shelter for EQ victims women and children with 16 women and 8 children then this number has later increased up to 75.
