Dear GlobalGiving Team/ Partner,

Warm greetings from Village Vision Care (VVC), Uganda.

We sincerely thank GlobalGiving for providing us with a platform to share our mission with people around the world. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the three generous donors who have supported our project. Although the total raised so far is USD 10.64, every contribution encourages us to continue serving vulnerable communities despite the many challenges we face.

Progress Since Our Last Report

While fundraising through our GlobalGiving campaign has been slow, Village Vision Care has continued implementing community programs through other partnerships and local efforts.

One of our key achievements during this reporting period has been the implementation of a vocational skills project supported by the Children Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF). Through this initiative, we have provided practical, employable skills training up to 336 young people in trades such as;

Hair dressing,Tailoring ,Motorcycle mechanics and Other marketable vocational skills.

These trainings are helping vulnerable youth develop the skills needed to earn an income, become self-reliant, and improve their futures.

In addition the organisation with the help of wellwishers contributes to education of 69 school going children in secondary and primary school. 17 students in good foundation primary school, 43 in kako senior secondary school, 4 in kirimya secondary school and five studying the German language.

We also have two elderly persons that we are able to take care of despite the very little resources available to us.

At the same time, our organization continues to receive requests for assistance from vulnerable children who need school support, struggling single and teenage mothers, persons with disabilities, elderly people without family support, and families facing severe economic hardship. Unfortunately, our available resources remain far below the growing needs within our communities.

Challenges

Our greatest challenge continues to be fundraising and donor engagement.

Although our project has now received three donations totaling USD 10.64, this is still far from the resources required to implement the project at the intended scale. We remain a small grassroots organization with limited capacity to reach international audiences and promote our campaign consistently.

One of our biggest gaps is the absence of a volunteer or fundraising ambassador based in North America, Europe, or other countries with strong philanthropic networks. Such a volunteer could help share our GlobalGiving project, engage potential donors, build partnerships, and increase awareness of the urgent needs facing the communities we serve.

 Lack of sustainable funding continues to be one of our greatest challenges , yet the needs in the communities we serve continue to grow every day.

This school term has been especially heartbreaking. Several of the vulnerable children we have been supporting have been sent home because we have not been able to raise enough money for their school fees and educational needs. Seeing children lose the opportunity to learn simply because of poverty is deeply painful.

Our situation became even more difficult last month when thieves attacked our community goat project during the night. They stole more than 150 goats, and our goat keeper was tragically beaten to near death while trying to protect the project.

This goat project was the backbone of our sustainability efforts. It helped us meet essential operational costs such as office rent, organizational compliance requirements, schoastic materials, school fees contribution and other expenses that allowed Village Vision Care to continue serving vulnerable communities. Losing the project has placed tremendous strain on our work.

Our Humble Request

We respectfully request  GlobalGiving to provide guidance or help connect Village Vision Care with volunteers or professionals experienced in fundraising, donor engagement, or nonprofit communications. Even one dedicated volunteer helping us promote our project internationally could significantly improve our ability to reach compassionate supporters/partners.

We would also appreciate any additional advice, training, or opportunities that could help increase the visibility of our campaign and strengthen our fundraising efforts.
