Meet Roshni, a girl with cerebral palsy who joined NISHTHA, aKaruna-supported organisation that provides treatment and education for children with disabilities. Roshni’s family are poor and had difficulty accessing regular medical support. They learned about NISHTHA from a neighbour and decided to enrol Roshni in the programme.
At NISHTHA, Roshni received physiotherapy, speech therapy, and education. Her family was counselled on the importance of the project’s support, so they committed to bringing her daily. Roshni improved her mobility, hand function, communication, and social skills. She can now move, grip, share, smile, drink, speak, walk, and express herself better.
NISHTHA and Roshni’s family worked together to help Roshni overcome her challenges and improve her overall well-being.
