FROM CREATIVITY TO

OPPORTUNITY

During May–August, ABLE YOUTH continued creating opportunities for

young people with disabilities to develop practical skills, confidence

and pathways toward greater economic independence.

Building on their successful spring jewelry-making experience, the young

participants continued developing their designs and improving the quality of

their handmade products. Alongside creative skills, they learned that their

work can have real value — something that can be presented, sold and

eventually become a source of income.

MORE THAN A PRODUCT

For a young person who has had limited opportunities for employment, seeing someone value and buy

something they have created can make a real difference.

“MY WORK HAS VALUE. I CAN

CONTRIBUTE.”

This is what ABLE YOUTH is about:

moving from ability and creativity toward participation, employment and greater independence.
