Project Update

Dear Supporter,

Street Child is thankful for your support to ensuring students remain safe, in school and learning. We are very close to the target we hope to reach for this project and we thank you all for your generous support.

Through the waves of an economic and political crisis in the country, students have endured numerous periods of a loss of learning. A lack of fuel access for many students and teacher households resulted in students forced to engage in a 3-day school week, with 2 days dedicated to online learning. The concern of this schedule is that the same students are always left behind. The communities we support have minimum to no access to a reliable internet connection. Home-based learning solutions continue to support students with a lack of access to infrastructure that the mass have access to and during these periods of uncertainty and instability.

As the shift of concern moves away from COVID-19 and towards recovery of a shattered economy, the package of learning materials continue to act as a crucial survival kit for student’s as they continue to endure interrupted learning for close to 3 years now.

The interactive and inclusive learning skills that 105 teachers have been equipped with has been employed to further produce digital learning resources. Street Child hope that the revival of these learning materials will give confidence and strength to students that are forced to a schedule of missed formal education. The materials will perform as a supplementary resource to recover this loss of learning and continue to support children during periods of uncertainty.

Street Child hope to continue expanding this program to reach more students and encourage a continuation of learning throughout the challenges faced amid the pandemic, economic crisis and beyond.

We thank you immensely for your unwavering support.
