VISIONAR SCHOLARSHIPS – APRIL 2018 UPDATE
March 2018 marked the beginning of the academic year in Argentina. For this edition of VISIONAR news, we asked our students receiving VISIONAR scholarships to share with us their goals for the year. This is what each of them wrote:
My name is Sofia and I am attending National Technological University, San Francisco Regional Branch, where I am majoring in Chemical Engineering. I only have 6 courses left to finish my 5th and final year of university.
In this 2018 my goal is to finish all my required courses and to focus more on my research in the field of polymers. I expect to present data from my research in congresses and seminars in order to grow academically and professionally. In addition, I will continue as a tutor for 3rd year Organic Chemistry students. In our university, the role of the tutor is very important; we support at-risk students not only with academic content, but also socially and emotionally, and in that way, we make sure students do not get discouraged or consider dropping out of school.
My name is Luana and I am about to start the 4th year of Chemical Engineering at the National Technological University, San Francisco Regional Branch.
First, I’d like to mention that, at the end of 2017, I achieved my goal of passing an international English certification exam called “Preliminary English Test”. Moving onto this year, I joined a Research group focused on Thermodynamic processes. In addition, I am a tutor for algebra and analytical geometry for 1st year students, as well as helping with the chemistry laboratory at a local high school, Jesus de la Misericordia School.
My goals for 2018:
My name is Gaston, I am 19 years old, and I am attending the 2nd year of university in the field of Civil Engineering at the National Technological University, Rafaela Regional Branch.
My name is Maria Paula, I am 23 years old and currently I am in the 4th year of my college education, with a major in Psychology, at UCES University in San Francisco, Argentina.
My name is Emilia, I am 20 years old and I am now in 3rd year of Psychology studies.
My name is Maria Ines, and I am in 2nd year of Industrial Engineering school. My goals for this year:
Get as many courses completed as posible
Be persevering with my schoolwork, and keep focused
My name is Jesica and this is my last year of Electronic Engineering. My goals for 2018:
My name is Maria Jose. My goal for 2018 is to finish my studies in Psychopedagogy and to graduate in December. I am proud to report that I have no outstanding courses from previous years, so I should be able to finish on time.
My name is Micaela. My goals in 2018 are:
Wishing all of our VISIONAR students a very successful school year!
To continue supporting their goals, we need your help.
Please consider supporting one VISIONAR student through their school year, which represents USD $1,080 in today’s exchange rate. This amount helps to pay for university fees, school supplies, books and transportation. As always, any amount is deeply appreciated and welcome.
