Dear Friends,
We hope this message finds you well.
Just a quick update from us at TBF. The last few months have been fairly uneventful with the exception of having our 2022 AGM and submitting all our documents to the New Zealand Charities Commission. Despite the challenges of the past year we were impressed to see just how much we had collectively achieved over the 2021-2022 financial year. Thank you for all your help, without your continued support our work would simply not be possible.
Besides that we are delighted that one of our good friends Sai Oo recently got married. Many of you will remember him as he was our Education Coordinator at Koung Jor for many years and now has returned to the camp where he lives in a house with his wife. We could not be more happy for him!
Looking ahead we plan to do more emergency funding to organisations that need it most, dealing with both the ongoing crisis in Burma / Myanmar and the fall out from the Covid 19 pandemic.
Thanks again for all your support!

Dear friends,
We wanted to take the opportunity to give you a quick update.
Like all of us, our friends at Koung Jor refugee camp have been affected by the pandemic. Luckily there have been very few cases but still they've had to isolate from the surrounding villages and had even less access to seasonal work than usual. We are in talks with the community on how we can help support their recovery from this troublesome time.
In the past few months we've donated emergency supplies to marginalised communities inside Burma / Myanmar. Communities that receive very little or no aid and are effected by the continued fighting.
We've also continued funding the computer classes at Koung Jor and seen just how much of a difference the new computers have made. We are going to keep our computer project open on global Giving for a few more months to see if we can get a little closer to our fundraising goal and enable the community to get a few more new computers.
If you want help us reach our goal, the project linke is here:

With all our gratitue,
Iona and the TBF team.

Dear Friends,
We would like to take the opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year! We hope this year is a happy and healthy one.
At TBF we are excited to see what 2022 has in store and to continue the work we collectively do with you to support thousands of marginalised people in South-East Asia.
We recently heard from Koung Jor community that they are weathering the pandemic well, with everyone fully vaccinated and reporting only one household that contracted Covid-19 in the past 2 years. The community is mostly isolating from the other nearby villages so seasonal work and a means for families to generate further income is very difficult. Our support for their Education Project is even more important than ever before and is providing a vital lifeline to the outside world with access to the internet and computer literacy.
The crisis in Burma/Myanmar is horrific, to say the least, with flighting, torture and airstrikes on innocent civilians on a daily basis. International media continues to not report the severity of the issue and displaced people are still feeling the fighting and crossing in to Thailand. We are working with local organisations to help with emergency funding so it reaches those who need it most.
We are so grateful for your continued support.
Thank You!
Team TBF.
