Mwangi values the walks/hikes to nature trails around Nairobi that we organize every last Saturday of the month, 9.00-12.00pm. The outdoors’ relaxed environment, shared experiences and camaraderie foster a sense of connection and self-reflection encourages vulnerability and openness amongst the boys and men in the group
The walk is followed by an hour’s support group meeting. Mwangi like all attendees, can share or just listen to the discussion, pegged to the month’s mental health theme, or any other random topic of interest
We continue holding space for boys' and Men’s mental health conversations through talks, football-centered gatherings, monthly IG discussions and mindfulness activities as some of the positive coping strategies
