The construction is almost complete. All the bathrooms, rooms, hallways, classrooms, the basement, roof, and railing of the school are complete. All the windows, doors, glasses, and plumbing were installed.
Habiba is in the process of registering the school. She received a donation of toys from a school in Alaska. The school is scheduled to open on March 22, the second day of Afghan New Year.
At the moment, Habiba needs money to register and to furnish the school. Currently, Habiba is working with someone who is helping her write proposals to get donations/a loan for the additional money.
In a revised business plan, Habiba now plans to accommodate 500 children...
“The center will accommodate 100 children between 3-6 years and 400 between 7-14 years, including boys and girls of those families whose parents are working out of their houses and need schooling and day-care.”
Habiba is so very grateful for all of the support she's received to date and looks forward to filling the niche of providing affordable childcare and education to local children.
