On 4th of May we took fifty of our children to the Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Vandalur near Chennai.
We spent the whole day at the zoo. Our children enjoyed the ride in the battery operated car to visit all the animals in their natural habitat. Then, we went on a lion safari and visited the area where lions live. The special educators showed the animals. Earlier, the children had seen the animals in pictures and they were excited to see them walk, run. climb, make noises, eat and play with other animals. They were overjoyed on witnessing elephants bathing and shrieked when they saw snakes.
Special Educators and Care Givers accompanied the children. We also had school students who volunteered to spend time with the children. The school also provided us their bus for the children's to transport.
Later, the children sat in a circle imitated the animals.
It was an enjoyable experience for the children.
We shall upload pictures shortly.
