                                             Support for 50 Multi disabled children

Dear Friends,

Please do accept our sincere thanks for your valuable support to our project for  Multiple disabled children.

We wholeheartedly appreciate the generous support of donors & Global Giving community.

Your valuable donation has been utilized to provide residential Education, Training & Rehabilitation for the Children with disabilities.

This is on-going project; in our project we have children with multiple disabilities (Visually Impaired and visually impairment with  Mentally challenged or Hearing loss and Physically disabled).

The background of these children socially, economically backward and they are severe disabled due to malnutrition.   These children are neglected by their parents.  Hence Divine Light is providing free residential Education and appropriate training in : Braille, Orientation & Mobility, Parents Counselling, Medical Intervention,  Horticulture, Craft, Music, Tailoring, Social Skills & Self help care etc…  in order  to bring them to the mainstream.

The following are the highlights of this quarter :-

July 2nd ,  2015                  -           Celebration of Helen Keller Day

August 13th, 2015              -           Medical check-up

August 15th , 2015              -           Celebration of Independence Day  

September 5th 2015            -           Celebration of Teachers Day

September 28th 2015          -           Individual Assessment of the children with      

                                                      Multiple disabilities along with their parents.

 The Success Story of Paramesha

Paramesha is  18 year old,  he is Hearing Impaired with Mentally  challenged.  He came to our Institution at the age of  12 years.  He come from very poor family and he was neglected by his parents. 

Therefore we admitted  Paramesha  to our center  after Medical  Intervention,  we began the training programme like : self-help care,  Social skills, Sign Language, Lip reading  and dance with movement.  He found of Craft & Gardening, hence we trained him Craft in addition to Pre-vocational & Horticulture training.    Due to  our  intensive  & individual attention,   he has come-up very well and   developed self-confidence.

He appeared for 10th class Public examination conducted by the Govt. of Karnataka in the month of June 2015 and he secured First class in the  examination and he pursuing further studies with us. 

The Global Giving support has helped him immensely to complete his examination and secured distinction in the Public exam.  

We take this opportunity to thank in a special way to Global Giving and to all our  donors who have contributed generously for the benefit of the children with disabilities.
